STC 4035 Omni Directional Moving Coil Mic.--1950-56
The STC 4035 is a robust directional moving coil
microphone for general broadcasting. It has
replaced the STC 4017. This mic can be seen often
in news footages from the 1950's and 60's. It has
been one of the best and reliable microphones the
BBC ever used during this period.
Eward R Murrow got out of his studio during World
War 11 in Britain, to capture the sounds of war—
bombs, sirens, gunfire so that listeners overseas
could imagine the plight of the British more vividly.
